When I first saw ads for Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle I was like "okay this may be interesting." I didn't expect to fully fall so head over heels in love with a movie. I absolutely adore all of it from the campiness of the video game design, to the characters, and especially how they deal with gender (as Bethany ending up in Oberon's body, and peeing with a penis for the first time, but yet Jack Black pulls off a very nuanced performance of Bethany, giving her character great depth.)

Jumanji: Next Level was even more fantastic. I got a deeper perspective of what the actors could do (I mean Dwayne Johnson did a great Dany Diveto, and I wasn't convinced that Kevin Hart was playing Fridge in the first movie until I saw him play Milo in the second, and could see the character range there.) I loved the added cast, with Ming and Cyclone added as Avatars. I adored Grampa Eddie and Milo, and totally ship the two of them.

One thing I have always loved about these movies is how they have no hesitation putting a character in an avatar of the opposite gender and how the joke isn't "haha Bethany's a man now" it's how do I pee with this thing? I don't know it's probably deeper than I am, but for this fandom I would be interested in trans characters, particularly F to M trans Bethany, or M to F trans Spencer.
