Underage DNW Clarification

Occasionally I request cannons or Original Works pairings that feature underage characters. I am perfectly happy if you're writing a G or T fic for those characters to be their cannon ages. But when we get to heavy romance or sex things I do have some preferences/thoughts. 

 

I prefer ambiguous older teens when underage is required.  I don't want anyone to get trapped up in trying to mention an age. Just saying they're in high school, or almost an adult is good. 

​

I also want to try to explain where underage ships are relevant to my interests, versus where they squick me. I really like characters who are in over their heads, maybe they know what sex is but they haven't really experienced it and their partner has all the power. This tends to be a dynamic found in some of the underage/underage-suggested Original Works pairings. 

​

What I don't like and really squicks me, is descriptions of underage bodies, or direct mentions to the character's age. 

​

The other scenario I like which does require underage is underage xeno character/adult who thinks they're in control. Think something like Teen incubus/Next Door Neighbor. The neighbor thinks he's going to get a little something from this kid, and then the incubus ends up feeding off him instead and taking control. Again for any scenario like this I prefer ambiguous older teen for the xeno character.

Charm of the Magpies - K.J. Charles

I just recently went back and reread this series and I have to say it is everything I love.  absolutely adore the integration of magic into everyday society, setting it in turn of the century England, the danger, not just from their foes, but the risk of jail just for love, I just love this whole series!  I finished reading and just wanted more in the same verse, even though I know the story has come to an end as far as these characters are concerned.

While I'm not requesting either of them I do also love Merrick/Saints, and Mr. and Mrs. Gold and would love having them in a fic if they fit in.  I am absolutely open to case fic involving any of the characters in my sign up. 

Jonah Pastern/Ben Spencer

I absolutely adore the conflict built into their relationship. Criminal/cop relationships are probably one of my favorites in all honesty. Ben being Jonah's conscious is truly fantastic and just how much Jonah wants to change to be worthy of Ben. I also adore the scene where Jonah windwalks to save the ship. His powers are truly fantastic and I love seeing him use them! 

Prompts:

  • Perhaps someone tries to take advantage of Jonah's wind walking abilities again? How does it differ from last time?

  • I would absolutely adore slice of life kind of fic for these two. I would love to know more about their day to day life, and how they fit into the town.

  • If you're open to writing Lucien/Stephen as well, I'd love to see Stephen come back to England and need Jonah's help with something (Maybe Lucien's been framed for something?). I would love to see Ben and Jonah's reaction to that, giving that Stephen tried to arrest them the last time they saw each other. 

Lucien Vaudrey/Stephen Day

There are so many nice things about this pairing! I  absolutely adore Lucien's past and his desire to do nothing with his family, but his willingness to stay in England if that's what Stephen wants. 

Prompts:

  • Lucien showing Stephen the world like he promised. I would love to see them along the silk road, or in Shanghai. How does Stephen get along with the shamen there? Or Stephen adjusting to being open about his relationship with Lucien. 

  • if you're feeling tropier, perhaps them having a baby? Is it accidental? I imagine it would take a lot of power to create a new life. Maybe Stephen has gone back to his judiciary ways, and someone is trying to distract him? Or if you don't want to go the mpreg route- they find an abandoned baby/child? I would love the contrast in their parenting styles if the child is older. Does Lucien teach the kid his own particular methods of problem solving?

Like a lot of people this is probably my oldest fandom. It's been years since I've read the books or watched the movies, and JKR annoys me now, but I still enjoy the characters and the world so I keep it around. 

Charlie Weasley/Draco Malfoy

I sincerely believe the best thing that could ever happen to Draco is getting out of England and away from his past, at least for a while. I would really adore something post cannon that ignores the epilogue. I would love to see Draco running from his past, from the law, from who he has always been, and finding love and acceptance in Charlie. 

 

As far as characters in HP go, we know very little about Charlie. I think he only appears a few times in the books, so he's a real blank canvas to work with. He's removed enough that perhaps he wouldn't know as much about the war, and the Malfoy's involvement, while still having that familiarity within the story. I like the consideration that he works with Dragons and with Draco's namesake as a dragon constellation. I think there's a nice connection there I'd love to see explored, or referenced. I also like that he's a little bit older and more stable and that that's something that Draco needs post-war.

I would absolutely adore the involvement of the other Weasleys (and by extension Harry, Hermione, or other members of the Order. Please feel free to also retcon anyone's death should you want) in their relationship. I would love to see who falls on approving vs disapproving vs wary but accepting. If they end up visiting the Burrow for some reason (If a wedding please not Ginny/Harry) and Draco being all nervous to see people from the other side of the war.

I would love to see anyone who was in the war (in particular those who were young and at the battle of Hogwarts) suffering from mental issues and PTSD from it. Including coping in bad ways (such as drugs, and alcohol, but please no reference to suicide) if you so wish to write. 

Harry Potter

Fenrir Greyback/Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy

I saw this pairing in the tagset and it really intrigued me. I ship Fenrir/Harry and Fenrir/Draco separately so I'm intrigued by the option to combine both. Mostly I'm after darker fic, with Fenrir having all the power in the relationship. I'm interested to see how Harry and Draco make this work, if their rivalry in school/life translates into a rivalry in the relationship, etc. 

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

This is my favorite movie from the 80's. It's my go-to movie when I just want to watch something easy and fun. 

 

I love the contrast between Ferris's carefree nature and Cameron's uptightness. I love Cameron finally losing his shit at the end. I absolutely adore Sloane and how easy going she is with everything Ferris gets them into! I love Ferris' family, Jeanie is amazing and I love her standing up to Rooney to protect Ferris in the end. 

Ferris/Sloane/Cameron

This is such a great ship because I love Ferris/Sloane, I love Ferris/Cameron, and I love Cameron/Sloane, so like, just put it all together! I would love to see something about Sloane and Ferris trying to court Cameron, and maybe Cameron being just so oblivious to it.

I also have this weird theory that I would love to see played out in a fic. Because Ferris is so lucky with everything, that Ferris is a changling (as in fae lore). I would love to see a fic with him growing into a fae and realizing it. Do Sloane or Cameron figure it out first? How do they react? Just a thought, I don't really know where to go with it, but I really like the idea. 

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

Jumanji is one of those movies that I never expected to like as much as I do. I really enjoy the way it feels so campy and yet unique. and they did a great job of updating what could have felt dated, what with turning it into a video game. I'm very open to fic either taking place in Bradford or Jumanji if you want to do a return to the game sort of thing. 

Bethany Walker/Alex Vreeke

So I really shipped this hard when they were first in Jumanji and Alex was a kid too. I was a little more skeeved by it when Alex was an adult and Bethany was a teen, but now I'm back to shipping them as Bethany is now a young adult. The thing that I want the most for them is a healthy happy relationship.  Like maybe built on shared trauma because Alex definitely should have some long-lasting trauma from living in Jumanji for 20 years and dying multiple times, but like happy overall. 

Prompts:

  • I would really love sweet get together/early relationship for these two! Something in Bradford with Bethany adjusting to be dad's girlfriend with little Bethany, and maybe the other mom's at soccer practice/ballet classes/daycare thinking she's a gold digger/trophy wife/midlife crisis for Alex. But really just sweet relationship stuff for them. 

  • I'm also a really big fan of trans!Bethany. I don't have a lot of guidelines here, just that Bethany kind of figures it out while he's in Jumanji as Oberon and ends up transition after high school. I'd love Alex supporting him and loving him, and just I know it's not much to go on but that's what I've got, lol. 

Russel Van Pelt/Alex Vreeke

This ship. This is my weird pairing for the series. I just can't believe that Alex spent 20 years in Jumanji and never ran into Van Pelt. In this pairing, I'm really looking for something dark, and honestly non-consensual filling in this time.

Russel Van Pelt

I find Van Pelt to be a very intriguing character. He has more character than any of the other NPCs. I think there's just this one little scene that convinces me, when the main characters have escaped from the bazaar and he mentions that "Seaplane has crawled out of his hole," or something like that.  And just that's such a great villain development but seems so out of place for an NPC (I mean what if 5 players entered at the same time? Wouldn't Jefferson be with the rest of the team from the start? There is a plot hole here!) So what I'm really looking for is some expansion into his character and his history!

Prompts:

  • I came across a theory once that Van Pelt was a person trapped inside the Jumanji boardgame when it changed into a video game. Which made him half-NPC half-player character. I would love something along those lines. 

  • We know that Van Pelt and Bravestone used to work together. How did that go? Did it end badly? Was Van Pelt backed by a university or how does he get his funding?

The Witcher

God I love this fandom. It has everything I could ever want, which is apparently Henry Caville with long hair. (look, I'm a simple fandom goblin with simple fandom tastes.) I absolutely love high fantasy and all of it's trappings. I am so here for monsters, and fights, and magic. I do really love all the characters, especially Yennefer, Tissaia, Calenthe and Ciri, so I am open to any background characters you want to appear!

As far as related cannons go, I haven't read the books or played the games. I started reading The Last Wish but I really stalled out on it towards the end and just didn't like it. I intend to play Witcher 3 soon but I'm waiting till I finish play Legend of Zelda first.  If you want to include things from either the books or the games feel free to I just probably won't pick up on them? But you do you.

Geralt/Jaskier

I feel like this is one of my favorite kind of pairings. I absolutely adore Geralt as this big gruff guy and Jaskier slowly working down his barriers. I truly believe that Geralt needs a hug, and needs to feel loved, but that it'll take a while for him to even let Jaskier in that far (which is not good when one of them is mortal and the other ages very slowly). I love Jaskier getting in the way and Geralt having to save him, or Geralt defending Jaskier in general. I'm open to any point in cannon, and Ciri being involved in getting them together if you want to do something post-cannon. 

Prompts:

  • Shameless smut. (look I said I had simple tastes, lol) I do enjoy Geralt on top, but I can also getting behind bottom/subby Geralt and Jaskier making him feel loved and protected.  (Geralt just needs a hug, and Jaskier can totally do that!) 

  • On that note, I would also totally be down for Jaskier giving Geralt a hug in a non-NC-17 context. Maybe early on in their relationship, and Geralt thinks that Jaskier is going to hit him and reacts poorly? 

  • I have a huge thing for Geralt's hair, and would love anything about Jaskier helping him with it- washing it, braiding it, combing it, running his fingers through it, scratching Geralt's scalp, doing fancy updos with braids and stuff. All of it would be fantastic.

  • We know that Witcher's are infertile like all magic users are, but what if it's not that simple? I'm looking for anything here about Geralt or Jaskier getting pregnant for whatever reason you want. Magic? (Was it Yennefer's doing? Was she trying to cast a pregnancy spell on herself and missed? Was she trying to distract Geralt from stopping her with whatever else she was doing?) A weird mutation? A/B/O? (Maybe all witcher's are alpha's and all humans are betas but then somehow Jaskier becomes an omega?)

  • I'm also open to Jaskier getting pregnant outside of his relationship with Geralt (Open relationship, non-con,  or them being on a break please! I'd rather him not cheat) and Geralt sort of adopting the kid. Especially fun if the kid's other bio-father is a werewolf, vampire, elf or other humanoid-ish creature. 

The Witcher

I just watched this movie a few days ago and I am absolutely in love with it. I adore the setting, the costume, the snarkiness between Illya and Napoleon. I can't believe I'm five years late to this! I also do really love Gaby, and enjoy her drinking habits, so please feel free to include her if you'd like. 

Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo

Seriously I think this pairing is everything I love. I enjoy Napoleon's sureness with himself, and just his entire attitude. Illya is so serious, and stilted and I think that just works so well together. I love Illya's patriotism with him claiming that the stairs he and Gaby were at were made by a Russian architect despite the fact that there was no way that was accurate!

  • I would really enjoy anything slow(ish) burn between the two of them. Perhaps working a case? Do they both still get contradicting orders from their old handlers? Are they both oblivious to their growing feelings? 

  • This fandom needs more A/B/O or general mpreg! For this fandom I can really see either of them as an omega, or maybe even two alpha's falling for each other? Pregnancy wise I'm not so much after cute family feelings, but more angst with either continuing to work, or feeling like he (which ever he you should choose), shouldn't keep working.

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

I have been trying to buy a switch for the last six months and I have finally got one.  And I have to say I LOVE this game. I enjoy how open the world is (even if I was so lost in the beginning!) and the characters are all fantastic. Link is adorable and I literally ship him with everyone. Let me say that again - I fully buy into the idea of Link waking up from his little 100 year nap and fucking his way across Hyrule. To that point, I am open to any ship involving Link, past or present that you care to write, I just picked these two out because they're the ones I prefer romantically. 

Link/Prince Sidon

There are so many great things in this ship. I absolutely adore Sidon, he's so enthusiastic and so determined to help his people. I like that Link has a connection to his family through Mipha and enjoy any drama or disapprovial from the Zora people. I also have a bit of a size kink and well, really Link barely comes up to Sidon's waist! So I am here for all of that, lol! 

Prompts:

  • Cultural diferences leads to accidental arranged marriage! Link accepted the armor Mipha made for him. The one that says he was going to marry her - the assumably Zora heir (I have no idea if Mipha would have actually inherited the throne, but for this we will assume so!) So by accepting the armor Link has agreed to marry the next Zora ruler. No one mentions this because he has to know right? (or it's buried so deep in some law book that most everyone has forgot it) Sometime later it's time for Sidon to take the throne and look what rule some dissenter digs up! Now Sidon has to find Link and convince him to marry him! This could be such a fun prompt with a variety of length options? Does Link happen to come to the Zora Domain anyways because of other reasons? Or does Sidon have to track him down? Does Sidon mention to other people about his intent to marry Link? Does Link hear about it before Sidon even finds him? (Like from Beedle who I have a deep love of since he always has arrows or the rumor mill journals?) Go wild! And have fun! 

  • I mentioned earlier I was in this fandom for smut right? Well it gets it's own prompt space. Feel free to go as wild and kinky as you'd like, or loving and sweet. Whatever you want to do!

Link/Revali

This is the pairing that totally took me by surprise. Revali has such a cocky attitude and I think he'd make Link work for it, but he'd also grow fond of Link for his pure dedication. I love the way he half encourages nad half challenges Link during the Medoh section of the game. And also in the Subdued Ceremony memory he seems more worried about Link than about Link being unable to be the champion. 

Prompts:

  • Ghost sex in Medoh (Okay I had to throw it out there, we can move on now.) 

  • I'd love something bittersweet as Link regains his memories and remembers what he had or even almost had with Revali.

  • I'm always a fan of mpreg. What if Link was pregnant when he was injured and went into his 100 year nap and now that he's awake the pregnancy can progress like normal. I'm totally down for him continuing his cannon-typical perilous job  even once he realizes he's pregnant (though he should probably fall in lava less than he does when I play!) And just Link trying to figure out what's going on, and who the father is because amnesia is fun. 

  • Revali being protective of Link during some pre-Ganon train? Link getting hurt and Revali patching him up? Or vice versa.

Original Work is by far my biggest fandom. I absolutely adore writing and reading it because there are so few constrants as to what you can write, or how the worldbuilding goes, etc. I also am a very trope-y person, and you can just get all those wonderful tropes into OW.

For OW  when a setting is not given by the prompt, I tend to prefer fantasy or modern settings over historical or sci-fi. Sci-fantasy is good, though, if you want to go that route! As far as historical I prefer the more cliche (which I hate describing it as, lol) settings, like victorian England, the 1960s, etc. 

​

I have 35 pairings across two requests for OW. That is a lot to talk about individually, and if I were to try I know I would either never complete this letter. Add to it that a lot of OW pairings are prompts in and of themselves, and it's like I don't know what to say about them? So I'm going to try something a little new. I've divided up the various pairings into categories, and I'm going to instead talk about those categories and what I like about them The categories are: 

I realize that some of this division is very messy. After all something in Fantasy or Modern could very easily be in Smut or vice versa. So really it's just general guidelines, but this seemed like a system worth trying, lol.

Quite literally. If you look at my Ao3 profile I write quite a lot of them, and that is on purpose because I love them so much.) Just all the fantasy is good, lol. I'm open to pure smut, or something longer and more plotty whatever you want to do.

Okay I guess I lied when I said I'm not a sci-fi fan. I guess the one cavet is that I do enjoy robots? Both of these seemed to have interesting premises and I'd love to see a take on them.

  • Male Sex Worker Who Thought He'd Seen It All/Male Client with Highly Unusual Tastes

  • Sex Party Attendee/Their Sibling Who They Didn't Know Was Also Invited

And then we get to the pure smut ones. All of these are thinly veiled excuses for fucking. I don't have a lot to say about it, but I do have a rather massive lise of smut likes in my likes section.
